Well, it’s been way too long and a LOT has happened.

April 5th, 2012 my Life changed dramatically as I was Diagnosed with a Brain Stem Tumor. I had an Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy surgery performed to drain a build up of an excess of Brain Fluid that was building due to the Tumor blocking the normal path for drainage. A few weeks after my Surgery I went through 30 days of Radiation Treatment on my Tumor. During this time I was on Catabolic Steroids, which screwed with my sleeping patterns, made me gain a lot of weight and generally were the worst thing. But provided relief of the swelling on my Brain. The following months were filled with 3 month MRI check-ups to ensure the Tumor was not growing. Fast forward to today, I’m doing a LOT better, my MRI schedule has been moved up to 6 month Check-ups. The Tumor has shrunk and shown no growth. And I feel 10x better than I did a year ago.

In the Photography Realm, I’ve finally upgraded as I wanted to over the past few years.

My recent purchases were the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM and the Body I’ve been wanting for a long time, the EOS 5D Mark III. I still have my Speedlite 580EX II but I’ve sold my 70-200 and hope to replace it with the newer version in the future.

I’ll try and update the site on a more regular basis, instead of a 2-3 year schedule!

I just realized it’s been a VERY long time since I last updated this site.

I took a break from Photography due to selling most of my equipment in order to wait for a possible Canon 5D Mark III or equivalent camera.  I’ve also sold my 70-200 lens and will pick up the newer version when I get a new camera most likely, if the rumored 24-70 IS doesn’t come out before that.  I kept the flash of course!  But that’s my Photography update.  Big purchases coming down the line, depending on which comes first.  If the 5D is still released and the 24-70 IS comes, I might pickup a 5D Mark II if it’s a great deal like it was recently.

In other news, I’ll be on vacation for the month of July, heading back to Bermuda for most of July and should be a great visit to see George & Sandy and spend some time with my Wonderful girlfriend Lisa.

So there it is, an update after almost a year.  And when the new Camera is purchased, I’m going to try and do at least a Photo a week if not more / week and update on a regular basis.

Been back at work for a week now.  Had an amazing vacation in Bermuda with my girlfriend!  I honestly wish I was still on vacation, but if you were always on vacation you wouldn’t enjoy them as much

Enjoying the last of the Dean Koontz Frankenstein book series, a third through it and I can’t put it down at times.  I think tonight I’ll try and finish at least another 1/3.

And on the Photography side of things.  I’m now the proud owner of a Canon 70-200 2.8L IS USM.  This is my first major camera related purchase and of course my first L series lens from Canon.  I can’t wait to shoot with it.  I’m also picking up my first real flash, so sick of the crappy built in flash that comes on cameras over the years.  Picking up a Canon Speedlite 580EX II.  Now to do some true learning and of course real shooting!

I hope to have some images up in the next few weeks, showing off what I’m shooting and what I’ve learned!
